PRESS   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

From June 30 through August 19, 2018 BCB ART will present the exhibition

Happinessisthespace betweensorrows new work by RICHARD BUTLER.

New paintings and eight new works on paper will be featured in this exhibition, which explores the depth of meaning below the surface.

Richard Butler chooses his sitters with which he has strong connections. These personal and psychologically intense bonds become manifest in his work, slowly revealing inner thoughts of both the artist and subject, creating a portrait, a self-portrait and an event.

Butler studied fine art and painting in the UK, and also known as the singer/songwriter for the acclaimed rock band “The Psychedelic Furs”- but he is always confidently expanding the role of artist.

Richard lives and works in New York.

A reception for the artist will be held at the gallery on Saturday, June 30th, from 5-7pm.

Also on view will be works by gallery artists: Marco Badot, Justin Baker, Frank Cresotti, Richard Finkelstein, Emily Gui, Ching Ho Cheng, John Foxx, Lynn Itzkowitz, Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Lucio Pozzi – and others.
