You Game? I’m Game, new paintings, drawings, and works on paper by Michael Lindsay-Hogg
August 9-September 7, 2014

From August 9 through September 7, BCB ART (116 Warren Street, Hudson NY) will exhibit You Game? I’m Game, new paintings, drawings, and works on paper by Michael Lindsay-Hogg.

An acclaimed director of music, film, and stage, Lindsay-Hogg notably the prime force behind creative productions such as the Beatles’ “Let it be,” the Rolling Stones’ ”Rock n’ roll circus,” and the off-Broadway play “The normal heart” has recently decided to apply his unique focus to works on canvas, board, and paper. These pieces, rendered in paint and colored pencil, evoke the feeling of ‘one frame movies’ full of characters, intrigue, and behind-the-scenes innuendo.

Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s paintings are in many private collections, including that of Mr. and Mrs. Rodolphe Von Hofmannsthal, Mr. and Mrs. Julian Sands, Nona Summers, Tara Summers, Jean Marsh, Wes Anderson, Leslie Nasser, Marc Kristal, Jane Moseley, Wendy Goodman, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Finkelstein.

A reception for the artist will be held at the gallery on Saturday, August 9, from 6 to 8 pm.

Also on view at BCB ART will be a group exhibition of gallery artists, including work by Justin Baker, Ching Ho Cheng, Frank Cressotti, Rick Finkelstein,
Emily Gui, Sedat Pakay, Scott Reynolds, Richard Wright, and others.

On Friday, August 8, the evening prior to BCB ART’s opening reception for Lindsay-Hogg, the Basilica Hudson and Spotty Dog Books of Hudson will co-host a screening of the film “Rock n’ Roll circus” at the Basilica building at 110 South Front Street at 8 pm. Following the screening, Lindsay-Hogg will give a talk and will be available for a book signing of his autobiography ”Luck and circumstance,” which recounts the artist’s personal and private life, as well as his ingenious foresight to create a dynamic visual history of the foundation of Rock n’ Roll music in the United Kingdom.

BCB ART is located at 116 Warren Street in Hudson.

Gallery hours are: Thursday to Sunday from 12 noon — 6 pm, and by appointment. For more information please contact the gallery @ 518.828.4539
