Bart Gulley's new works start out as small immediate collages, which he considers as maquettes, or jumping-off points for a larger, final painting. The net results combine hard edged geometric shapes with lush, painterly sections that reflect his love of architecture, tension, play, and color.
The 9 local landscapes by Sasha Chermayeff are reflections about being in nature. Different from her abstract studio work, but with a true common thread, these new paintings convey the endless change and renewal of the landscape around the artist. They speak to the desire of always wanting to capture that 'perfect day.'
Also on display are works by gallery artists: Garth Evans, Eric Fischl, Jim Goss, Lynn Itzkowitz, Scott Reynolds, David Salle and others.
