SLANT FLYING, an exhibition of new work by Sasha Chermayeff

From April 25th through May 24th 2015 BCB ART will present SLANT FLYING, an exhibition of new work by Sasha Chermayeff.

“ I start a painting, and things can move from simple, to more complicated, quite quickly. The heart of the journey is moving through, back, towards simplicity. As if something tells me that ‘simple’ holds a beacon for truth and balance, beauty and ugliness, with no beginning, no middle and no end.”

In this series I am working to integrate my different practices, and working with different scales; smaller paintings- more intimate and emotional, and larger works- more physical, calligraphic and gestural. Scale creates differences, but it doesn’t alter the fundamental form, which involves moving from the complex to the simple, often again sliding into complication, and then, the return, clearing the way…”

A reception for the artist will be held at the gallery on Saturday, April 25th , from 6 to 8 pm.

Also on view at BCB ART will be a selection of gallery artists, including work by Emily Gui, Benjamin Swett, Michael Lindsay-Hogg- and others.
